Volunteer with Bethany Christian Trust

Befriending

Support Bethany's 1-2-1 befriending programme called Passing the Baton. Befrienders meet up with their befriendee for an hour or so every week or fortnight, for a coffee or walk to offer a listening ear, and over time to help individuals who are at risk of homelessness to connect with different community groups and hopefully have some fun along the way.

Bridge to Freedom Group

Bethany's Christian recovery programme called Bridge to Freedom have groups meeting in Leith (Monday afternoon) and the City Centre (Thurs afternoon). The group is for anyone experiencing life controlling issues to look at what the Bible says about issues such as anger, forgiveness, shame, etc. Volunteers help by providing a strong welcome, helping to set up the group, serve refreshments, as well as contributing to the group discussion and being open and real about matters of the heart.

Bethany also have other opportunities available with their Lunchtime Plugin at Stenhouse Baptist, Women's Group in Leith and Homework Club in Moredun.
